Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A wave of outrage swept through Patna on Friday morning after the body of a three-year-old child was discovered in a private school’s gutter. The child's family and community members, angered by the incident and the school's alleged mishandling of the situation, took to the streets in protest. The demonstration turned violent, with several vehicles and parts of the school's walls set ablaze.
The incident began when the child's family, worried about his disappearance after school, initiated a desperate search. Upon reaching the school, they suspected foul play as the school authorities allegedly attempted to evade their questions about the child’s whereabouts. Determined to find him, the family searched the school premises and discovered the child’s body concealed in a drainage gutter.
An angry crowd gathered in response to this incident, demanding swift justice. The protest soon escalated into violence, leading to the burning of vehicles and parts of the school building.
Patna Superintendent of Police Chandra Prakash stated that the police were promptly informed and arrived at the scene swiftly. He confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with CCTV footage showing the child entering but never leaving the school. "We will investigate this as a murder case as they were hiding the body, which shows criminal intent," Prakash said. Three individuals have been detained, and inquiries continue.
